In last year Gamecon 2017, Microsoft had a big Age of Empires announcement, that we reported. They announced Age of Empires: Definitive, remake of first Age of Empires game on PC. The game was set to be released on October 19, 2017 but then it got delayed to unknown date. Finally Microsoft broke the silent and give us new release new date. Age of Empires: Definitive will be released on February 20 worldwide for Windows 10 PCs and will cost you $19.99.
took us a bit longer than we’d originally planned. But, it was important for the team to treat the Age of Empires franchise with the respect it deserves, so we took the time we needed to get features like attack-move and the improved minimap exactly right, and even added things like an in-game tech tree (how did we survive 1997 without that?) that we hope fans will love.
And now I’m happy to announce that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is launching on February 20 worldwide for Windows 10 PCs at $19.99 USD.
The remastered Age of Empires was built from the ground up. The original soundtrack was re-recorded to go with the remastered graphics. According to Microsoft, the rebuild has fixed a lot of bugs and added new features including online multiplayer support and achievements on Xbox Live. Also the game will have new zoom/view options that will come handy if you want to see more or less of your map.

Age of Empires: Definitive Beta coming on 29th Of January
With new release date announcement, Microsoft have also announced it will also to have beta starting on 29th Of January to the launch day. With this beta you can test the game and see if you still like the old style RTS games. You sing up for the beta and get more information about game at AgeOfEmpires.com
I’m glad to see the game back. I was worry they might have been canceled. I’m a big fan of the old RTS games like the old Command & Conquer games and the old Warcraft. We are really happy to see the game coming back as a remaster and as a new game, however we don’t know how it will perform (sales wise) in this age.
