Last week Bandai Namco released a demo for their PS4 upcoming famous drum game, Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum Session, which will release in Japan and Asia this month on October 26. Also there’s an English localized version that will be released for the Asian Market on the same date. I’m really excited for the game, and have wrote about buying and importing it from Japan or getting the English localized version and how to ship it internationally in this older post last month.
I did try the demo in TGS 2017 and it was really fun to play especially using the special PS4 drums and sticks controller which gives you the same excitement and feeling of playing it in the Arcades in Japan. The demo I downloaded is from the Japanese PSN Store, and to my surprise, when I started the demo, it has complete English instructions and menus!!! I was really happy when I saw that, but also a bit confused at the same time. I have already preordered the game digitally from PlayStation Hong Kong PSN Store, which has the definite English translations, but honestly, I wanted to preorder the physical game bundle that has drums and sticks PS4 controller with it, which is for the Japanese market. But now, with this nice discovery that the Japanese demo has English menus, I am guessing and hoping the full Japanese game will come with English menus as well. Come to think about it, many recent PS4 games have different supported languages shipped with it, and they change based on your PS4 default language settings. Check below the screenshots I took straight from the Japanese demo of the game.
So if you are interested to buy the game and still haven’t preordered it yet, and wish to buy the game and drum and sticks special bundle, then go for the Japanese bundle from amazon Japan or play-asia as they both ship it internationally which is neat, (of course fingers crossed the full game will come with English menus as well).
