At Tokyo Game Show 2016, Capcom announced new Resident Evil CG Movie coming to the japanese theaters on the spring of 2017. The movie titled Resident Evil: Vendetta or Biohazard: Vendettain in Japan will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto , who is known for his work on Bushido Man (2013), and japanese video game developer and anime producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The movie scripted by Makoto Fukami known for his work on of Psycho-Pass.
According to Anime News Network the new movie will have a completely original story, and will feature characters from multiple games in the series, including Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, and Leon Kennedy.

After the successes of this year Godzilla Resurgence it looks like we will get more movies from Japan next year as well. We are looking forward for good movies from Japan to break through to the international movies market, and make more blockbuster movies.
